John came home from work one day back in February 2001 with a book that someone at work had given him. That book – Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki – marked the beginning of our journey to wealth (if you want to find out more about what’s happened for us along the way, listen to this podcast: Some Days All You Can Do Is Laugh)
Here are the books, DVDs, games, apps, programs and anything else that has made the biggest difference to us.
Some of the things are practical and hands on, some of them are about changing the way we think about money.
All of them I recommend in a heartbeat.

What to read...
I'd been meaning to read this book for ages because it comes recommended by a lot of friends, but I put it off because - got to admit it - I hate budgeting. BUT the book wasn't what I expected and, honestly, what David Bach talks about in the book makes so much sense and aligns with my thoughts on money (which is a big relief!). A small shift in your thinking and your actions is all that's needed.

Games to Teach You How To Play at Life
When someone suggested we buy this game, and I saw the price, I thought they were mental! HOW MUCH for a game? But buy it we did, and we spent every evening for weeks playing and playing, finding out that the people with the highest income rarely found it easy to get out of the rat race, but once you did get out of the rat race, boy, was life fun! This is a really easy, really fun way to actually check out what's involved in changing the way you think about money and what's possible when you do. Buy it now.
I was so excited when this was released! Finally, the kids could learn the same things we were learning but in a way they could understand! Within a few weeks, my kids were doing all sorts of money raising things and they've got a fabulous understanding of the how money works.
While the Cashflow boardgames teach you about money and wealth creation in general, this game teaches you about making money in business. Brad Sugars is one of the world's leading business coaches and all of his knowledge and experience is in this game. It's a fascinating look at how to make money through business.
Things To Teach Your Kids About Money
Robert Kiyosaki has written quite a few books aimed at showing parents how to teach their kids to think in an entrepreneurial, anything-is-possible-if-you-put-your-mind-to-it way and the ones I've read are great. This is a slightly different version to the book I've got, but it's pretty much the same content and highly recommended.
Kiyosaki's easy-going, easy-to-read style comes across well in this kind of book and my kids loved them. This, along with the Cashflow for Kids Board game taight my kids i) how to manage money and ii) how to create it through businesses and real estate.
